CAREER SERVICES
Last year, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois served 2,675 people in many different ways, but with the same end goal – helping people attain the tools and resources necessary to find and keep jobs.
Basic Needs
Goodwill helped individuals and families attain basic needs, including child care, transportation and clothing for interviewing and employment. Goodwill helped over 1,000 people attain these basic needs that we so often take for granted.
Training and Job Placement
Goodwill offered training and job placement assistance to over 1,500 individuals in the Rockford and Northern Illinois area last year. This includes skills training, financial education, work experiences, and on the job training opportunities. Goodwill customers completed over 21,000 hours of vocational and on the job training in the last year.
Corporate Citizenship
In addition to offering dignity through work, Goodwill continues to be a good citizen to the communities in which we serve. Last year, Goodwill generated $268,722 in retail sales tax and paid employee income taxes in the amount of $79,334. Goodwill also diverted 2,293,525 pounds from our local landfills by recycling plastics, cardboard, shoes, clothing, and metals, in addition to the over 2 million pounds of goods sold in our stores and therefore kept out of the trash.
Good people. Good cause. Goodwill.
