MISSION SERVICES
In 2011, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois served 4,848 people in many different ways, but with the same end goal – helping people attain the tools and resources necessary to find and keep jobs.
Basic Needs
Goodwill helped individuals and families attain basic needs including clothing for interviewing and employment. Goodwill helped over 1,225 people attain these basic needs that we so often take for granted.
Financial Support
Goodwill offered financial support services to over 1,350 individuals in our communities last year. This includes financial education and tax preparation services.
Job Training
Goodwill participants completed over 15,829 hours of vocational and on the job training in the last year.
Corporate Citizenship
In addition to offering dignity through work, Goodwill continues to be a good citizen to the communities in which we serve. In 2011, Goodwill generated $510,000 in retail sales tax and paid employee income taxes in the amount of $245,000. Goodwill also diverted 7,363,000 pounds from our local landfills by recycling plastics, cardboard, shoes, clothing, and metals and computers.
