Free Open Training
Internet Safety Course - Free two hour course. January 19th from 3:00PM to 5:00PM.

Clerical Skills Training and Placement Program
In this program you will:
Receive training on typing and Microsoft office computer programs
- Create a resume, cover letter, and thank you letters
- Have internships in your choice of settings, including retail work, accounting, reception, and data entry
- Practice interview skills
- Understand how to perform an effective job search and have assistance with your search
- Have the tools to find, acquire, and maintain a job in the community
- Have the tools and information to continue your education
Requirements for the program:
- You must qualify for services through the Department of Rehabilitation Services
- You must have a high school diploma or GED
- You must be over the age of 17
- You must have an 8th grade reading level (as determined by the TABE test)
- You must be willing and able to sit at a computer for 4-6 hours per day and take care of yourself physically
- You must be willing to come to class on time, every day that you are scheduled
- You absolutely must have a good positive attitude!
Community Placement Program
In this program you will:
- Learn how to execute an effective job search
- Create a resume, cover letter, and thank you letters
- Practice applications and tax forms
- Practice interview skills
- Have the tools to find, acquire, and maintain a job in the community
Requirements for the program:
- You must have a high school diploma or GED
- You must be over the age of 17
- You must be able to care for yourself physically
- You absolutely must have a good positive attitude and want to work in the community!
Retail Skills Training and Internship
- Class run 6 time per year, call for dates!
- 4 weeks of classroom training, followed by a retail internship
- Case management, job coaching, and support provided
- Job placement assistance
You will learn:
- Work and industry expectations
- Customer service
- Handling cash transactions
- Monitoring Inventory
- Working as part of a team
- Working with employment and tax forms.
- Practice interviews and situational role playing
Requirements:
- Ability to attend 4 weeks of class (Monday – Friday)
- Completion of 8th grade
- Willingness to work and learn
- Basic Reading/Math Comprehension
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and lift weights up to 10 lbs
Attire to Hire Program
Goodwill is about jobs and helping people, and sometimes, our clients and community members need some basic tools to help them land the job. Goodwill can help individuals locally to attain clothing for interview or employment needs. We work with other human service agencies and individuals to provide high quality clothing, free of charge.
